Defying Gravity...again...

K, so this is a video clip of the talent show. The ending is terrible so just stop it before you get there. Poor Kathryn, the page turner forgot to turn the first page so that's why there is a weird pause thing toward the beginning. haha enough excuses, here it is.

Kathryn is my pianist for the Talent Show tonight! Thank goodness for talented roommates! She picked this song up in two days!! We thought we'd record one of our practices on Nikki's laptop, so keep in mind this is just a practice, so some parts are a little rough still. (especially the end) :( Here it is:

Right now I should be getting ready for class, but someone is in the shower--a common occurrence with 6 girls to one bathroom.

On Friday I'm singing "defying Gravity" from Wicked for the Heritage Halls variety show. Just for the record college hasn't changed my last minute performance habit. I walked by the sign up sheet for auditions Monday and realized, "oh, that's today. Maybe I should do something" so I signed up, grabbed Jenna Garrett's Wicked sheet music and came back an hour later to audition accapella. (note: Defying Gravity is not exactly an accapella kind of song) I only sang about half of it and then paused and said, "okay now there is some kind of weird piano interlude...umm...well you get the point right?" haha I left it at that. I guess they liked it alright though. :D After the variety show I'm going to slip out and Jenna and I are heading to Thanksgiving Point for Whitney Lindsay's wedding reception. It's going to be a Jenna, Jenna, Tikla reunion! Weird! I haven't seen Jenna Lindsay since 9th gradeish! Saturday all my roomies and me are going to the dollar theater to see Enchanted again! yay!

Next week guess where I'm going! The Grand Canyon! Oh yeah! That's right! Grandpa and Nanna are having a girl from Spain come to visit and they want her to see the canyons. I'm tagging along so she'll have someone to hang with.

What else is coming up...Oh yeah! The Luau! I'm dancing for the Tahitian section and the Hawaii section! In fact in the Hawaii section I have a quick solo part (which doesn't make any sense since I'm as white as can be...go figure) It's going to be in the Marriott Center! woohoo!

Then next Friday is Dancesport. I'm competing in the Triple Swing this time. I don't have quite as much hope this time since it's Silver level competition, but it should be fun all the same!

Choir concerts coming up too! We have some awesome songs this time around! We might even get to wear feather boas for "I've got rhythm" :D

Oh yeah and I guess there is school too! hahaha still finishing up midterms. Wish me luck on the Psych test this week, and the American Heritage test next week. ;) Yay! The shower is free! Yikes, looks like I'm gonna have to run to get to social dance on time!
